Raspberries

Raspberries have a sweet-tart flavor, adding brightness in desserts, jams, smoothies, and as a fresh snack, while also offering potential health benefits like supporting heart health due to their high fiber and antioxidant content. They are also notably low in calories. From golden and crimson to black, the rich colors of raspberries also often add appeal to recipes.

  • Low calorie count: despite their sweetness, raspberries are relatively low in calories.

Great in Food, Beverages

  • Fresh eating: enjoyed alone as a snack.

  • Desserts: incorporated into cakes, pies, tarts, and pastries, or simply paired with chocolate.

  • Smoothies and yogurt

  • Salad toppings: used as a fresh, brightening addition for salads

Versatile Ingredient for Pairing

Raspberries go with sweet and savory flavors.

  • Raspberries naturally harmonize with other berries like honeyberries/haskaps, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries.

  • Raspberry and chocolate, a classic combination.

  • Citrus: the tartness of citrus fruits like lemon, lime, and orange can complement the sweetness of raspberries.

  • Herbs: they pair well with certain herbs like mint, thyme, basil, and even bay leaves.

  • Spices like chili peppers, ginger, and cinnamon

  • Nuts: especially almonds and hazelnuts.

  • Other fruits: apricots, peaches, plums, and rhubarb also make good complements.

  • Raspberries can even be used in savory dishes, like with tomatoes, basil, or even in a ceviche.

  • Craft beer: raspberries are assertive fruits that hold their own in beer.

  • Wine: ever try golden raspberry wine? Delicious

  • They are great in margaritas, martinis (like the French Martini), mimosas, and even spritzers or cocktails with gin, vodka, or rum.

  • Let us know how you pair it!
